Position Title: Project Manager/Business Analyst

Department: Operations

Reports to: VP, Operations

Location: Alexandria, VA

Status: Exempt/Full Time

Travel Req: Occasional travel (<10%) to partner organizations or conferences
Position Overview
This position coordinates projects for Global Impact’s Technology Solutions team. The role is a combination of project management and business analysis. The Project Manager/Business Analyst manages a robust project pipeline while having the ability to elicit software requirements and ensure that Global Impact builds compelling, client-oriented solutions. The Project Manager/Business Analyst works with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements, works with the overall business to understand and set priorities effectively, and then works with the technology team to deliver those requirements in the predetermined timeframe.

Major Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain credibility with business leaders to effectively drive their portfolios and deliver on client projects
  • Act as liaison between business units and technology team to define requirements and translate client needs into actionable product roadmaps
  • Document business requirements to enable development and quality assurance teams to be able to execute and deliver high quality technology solutions
  • Manage integrated Production Schedule, resource capacity, and task alignment
  • Manage a broad portfolio of diverse projects to provide technology solutions to Global Impact clients and staff


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience managing technology projects
  • At least 2 years’ experience doing business analysis and documenting requirements
  • Strong communication abilities and ability to interact with project stakeholders both internal and external

Additional Required Experience includes:

  • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycles with an emphasis on quick reaction capabilities
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications including SharePoint and MS Project
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously of varied scale and complexity
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through
  • Experience in interacting directly with clients and senior leadership staff


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years’ experience with non-profit fundraising and marketing solutions
  • Project Management Professional CertificationProfessional traits that are not unique to this position, but necessary for Global Impact leaders:
  • Exhibits excellent judgment
  • Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution
  • Results-oriented
