Since 1973, Women Employed (WE) has been creating fundamental, systemic change for working women. WE are an advocacy organization. WE work to change systems, because when you improve a law, work with a company to create supportive policies, or help a college develop programs to keep working students in school, you can improve the circumstances of hundreds—maybe millions—of women all at once.

WE pursue equity for all. WE value the unique experiences, backgrounds, perspectives, skills, knowledge, and workstyles that a diverse workforce brings to our organization. WE are committed to building a diverse and inclusive staff, and we encourage women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, and individuals with different abilities to apply.

The Marketing Coordinator helps build WE’s brand and reputation, as well as supporters’ connections with the organization, by collaborating on all facets of the organization’s marketing and communications strategies. The person in this role will serve as a brand gatekeeper and ambassador, ensuring all of Women Employed’s materials and communications embody our brand guidelines and ethos. They will oversee our digital strategy and implementation, including helping to develop and implement strategies for email, social media, the website, and digital advertising; and will regularly assess our analytics from those channels to determine ROI and inform marketing strategy. This person will work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications and other staff members to build editorial calendars and campaign communication calendars and will collaborate with the Communications Coordinator to write content for our communication. They may represent Women Employed at events, meetings, and on working groups, and will build relationships on behalf of the organization. These events, meetings and working groups may fall outside of “regular” business hours and may occur on evenings and/or weekends. This role is collaborative, and the person in it will work across teams on organizational campaigns, events, initiatives, and special projects. It’s a dynamic position with a great deal of opportunity for growth and for new ideas.

    • Works to ensure Women Employed’s materials, communications, and online presence adhere to brand standards and guidelines, and reflect our commitment to gender and racial equity in both look and tone; and provides guidance to external partners and vendors on proper usage of WE’s logo and branding.
  2. Digital Strategy and Implementation. The person in this position works closely with Director of Marketing and Communications to help develop and manage:
    • Women Employed’s email marketing strategy, including developing content plans for email newsletters and other marketing emails, collaborating with team members to write content, and setting up and sending emails.
    • Social media strategy and implementation, including planning content for social channels, helping develop channel-specific strategies, and scheduling content to post, and collaborating with Communications Coordinator to write the content.

  3. Editorial Calendar and Campaign Communications.
    • With guidance from Director of Marketing and Communications, work across teams to develop editorial and campaign calendars (including for fundraising, events, public awareness, and advocacy), help develop content, and share them with other staff, to ensure our marketing and communications are coordinated and streamlined.
    • Ensure that communication and campaign plans and materials reflect an intersectional, racial and gender equity lens and a social justice mindset, are consistent with our messaging and our commitment to equity for all, and engage, inform, and position WE as an expert.
  4. Technology and Data Analysis
    • Master technology tools and integrations used by the marketing and development teams, including Salesforce, Classy, Marketing Cloud/M4NGO, Hootsuite, Google ads and analytics, WordPress, and help develop processes and best practice guidance for the team.
