Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC) is looking for an excellent marketing pro, project manager, and creative, strategic thinker to join our team of interfaith leaders!

IFYC is working to make interfaith cooperation the norm in America. This starts in colleges and universities, where the minds and values of emerging leaders are shaped and conversations take place that steer broad cultural change. We engage with leaders across the campus environment – faculty, staff, administration, and students. We offer the tools, guidance, opportunities and networks needed to bring interfaith learning into their campuses, classrooms, research, and lives.

This position will play a pivotal role in IFYC’s Marketing & Communications initiatives, helping the organization to engage and inspire our key target audiences in higher education: college and university students, alumni, administrators, and faculty. On a daily basis, the Marketing & Communications Manager coordinates with our various program teams and specialists to devise outreach strategies and tactics, and move these initiatives forward with an eye to great service and well-organized project management.

The person who will thrive in this role will be a hyper-collaborative team leader who can devise marketing and communications strategies based on set goals, and then build and execute projects to deliver on them.  This position also interfaces regularly with stakeholders outside the organization and must be able to represent IFYC with a high degree of professionalism and warmth.


  • Develop marketing and communications strategies and tactical plans to promote IFYC signature programming and related content across the higher education landscape. Draft and maintain ownership of an ongoing year-long strategic marketing plan designed to grow IFYC’s network of constituents and advance other organizational objectives.
  • Project manage a suite of marketing initiatives to advance IFYC’s programs by– organizing project plans and timelines, communicating with stakeholders, contributing to strategy and creative approaches, collaborating with thought partners, and ensuring that project deliverables are completed to a high standard of excellence.
  • Supervise one Marketing & Communications Associate.
  • Support creative development and brand management by helping to craft communications, advertisements, and media experiences that advance the IFYC brand and strategically position the organization.
  • Collaborate with the team to help refine creative assets such as web, email, and social media content as well as collateral and print materials.
  • Manage a CRM-based pipeline of marketing prospects with regular personalized outreach to prospective staff, faculty, administrators and student leaders on campuses not currently working with IFYC to cultivate their interest in further partnership with IFYC.
  • Analyze marketing and communication channels and campaigns on a regular basis to determine efficacy and ROI.
  • Research new opportunities for campus marketing/outreach and test new tactics.
  • Assist colleagues in marketing and communications as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

Hours: Occasional travel will be required, as well as occasional evening and weekend work.

Supervisor: Reports to Senior Director of Marketing & Communications

Direct Report: Manages the Marketing & Communications Associate


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years of experience managing multiple marketing and communications projects with a high degree of organization and transparency.
  • 3-5 years of experience in brand marketing, communications, or related disciplines. Background in non-profit or higher education institutions strongly desired.
  • An expert understanding of fundamental principles of direct marketing.
  • Knowledge of constituent relationship management processes and experience overseeing a pipeline of constituent relationships from initial engagement to deeper partnerships. Experience with constituent relationship management (CRM) tools like Salesforce strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with common marketing and communications channels including but not limited to email marketing, online fundraising, social media strategies, data management, website and email analytics, photography and online video. Basic design literacy preferred.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of the U.S. higher education sector and an intimate knowledge of how college campuses work, ideally through 3+ years experience in the sector or a related field.
  • Familiarity with major higher education associations, networks, and organizations that serve college and university students, staff, faculty and senior administrators preferred.
  • Familiarity with and intellectual interest in the role of religious and worldview diversity in the future of American social life, and the role colleges and universities play in the positive engagement of that diversity. Familiarity with issues of campus multiculturalism, inclusion, and related conversations around American higher education.
  • Staff supervision/team management experience preferred

  • Demonstrates a strategic mindset, with experience tying goals to strategies; strategies to tactics; and tactics to the messaging, channels, time, technology, and resources required to deliver.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and time management skills.  Long-range planners and daily stock-takers will thrive.
  • The right person will be a self-starter who prioritizes responsibilities, sets ambitious goals, and defines clear metrics for evaluating outcomes.  The ability to follow through on long-term projects is critical.
  • Demonstrated proactive approach to problem solving with strong decision-making capability.
  • Ability to work both independently and in team environments.
  • High degree of professionalism and impeccable interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to see the big picture, apply judgement to context, and make strategic decisions accordingly.
