As an IS Service Delivery Lead, you will be a key liaison between VentureWell’s Information Systems team and other business units, conveying our technology vision to staff and contributing to the health, success, and growth of information systems and tools. This position will focus on the use and development of VentureWell’s custom Proposal Management Systems. We are looking for a colleague who is an experienced and creative product owner and problem solver, capable of co-designing and implementing solutions that strike a balance between user needs, business requirements, commercial interests, and technological constraints. If your style of leadership is expressed through working collaboratively as both a key project contributor, (responsible for administration and configuration), as well as a product owner and relationship manager (compiling requirements, managing and prioritizing systems releases, establishing project timelines, and keeping projects on track), this could be the perfect job for you.

Reporting to the Director of Information Systems, this position works across the organization, partnering closely with staff who manage the intake, review, decision-making, and administration of our programs’ proposal intake and selection processes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the product owner for VentureWell’s custom-developed Proposal Management Systems and related tools, effectively communicating project expectations and requirements to the development team and to stakeholders.
  • Develop deep knowledge of user requirements and needs. Define, compile, and prioritize user stories and requirements; plan project sprints in close partnership with the development team.
  • Manage project backlog(s); contribute to quality assurance and testing; develop and maintain technical system documentation.
  • Work with other IS team members to optimize and scale VentureWell’s proposal management systems integrations and related processes.
  • Design and build externally-facing program application forms that meet stakeholder requirements and use best practices for content design, and data collection strategy.
  • Partner with other senior technical staff and external developers to ensure any new software integrations meet functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
  • Provide ongoing technical resources and support for VW staff by developing user documentation and training that build on VentureWell’s internal knowledge base.
  • Collaborate with staff across the organization to create trusting consultative relationships that lead to deepened understanding of IS service and system needs.

Requirements

  • 5 years of previous experience working in a sales engineer, product owner, or other delivery leadership role, developing detailed business & functional requirements, conducting user acceptance testing and providing end user training and documentation.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to identify and mitigate risks/issues as they arise.
  • Competency working through all aspects of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and end-to-end business systems implementation and support.
  • Ability to cultivate consensus and buy-in from stakeholders across business units; ability to explain complex concepts in layman’s language; ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff.
  • Ability to incorporate the following cloud based tools into day to day work: GSuite, Salesforce, team collaboration/communication tools, and other web-based applications.
  • Previous experience in application implementation/support, relational database administration, database architecture, or a related field; experience with Salesforce.com a plus.

Across the board, VentureWell staff…

  • Are able to succeed and thrive in an environment with competing and changing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Have track records of and ability to build solid, collaborative working relationships; and are strong team players who enjoy a “customer service” orientation to collaboration.
  • Are committed to embedding equity in our internal practices and culture and in our programs in order to live and achieve our mission.
  • Bring openness and engagement to personal, professional, and organization-wide learning on race, class, gender, justice, and equity.
  • Are curious and committed to issues of environmental sustainability.
  • Are self-starters with strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high quality work.
  • Are active learners who independently learn new tools and work processes quickly
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
