Rate: $25/hour

Transportation Alternatives (TA), New York City’s advocate for walking, bicycling, and public transportation, seeks an Email Production Associate to execute a calendar of emails in support of our advocacy, fundraising, and community-building goals. The Email Production Associate is situated within the Marketing & Communications team and reports to TA’s Director of Communications. This role will also work closely with the Development and Advocacy teams as they execute their work.

Summary of Position:
This is a three-month contract to produce the organization’s weekly newsletter, advocacy and call-to-action emails, and fundraising and event emails. This role will require between 10 and 15 hours per week, and will collaborate with the Marketing & Communications, Design, Advocacy, and Development teams.


  • Create and edit HTML emails, proofread and quality-check email tests, obtain internal sign-offs, schedule and send emails
  • Collaborate with Communications, Design, Advocacy, and Fundraising teams to identify strategic audience segmentation. Note: Email copy/content will be provided to the Email Production Associate by the Senior Communications Coordinator.
  • Troubleshoot various HTML rendering issues across email clients and browsers (Gmail, Outlook, Chrome, Safari, etc.)

Qualified candidates will bring with them:

  • HTML/CSS experience
  • Process-driven, keen attention to detail, ability to multitask, excellent time-management and proofreading skills
  • Familiarity with Pardot and Salesforce, or experience with similar email production / CRM platform

Exceptional candidates will also bring with them:

  • HTML coding experience for email
  • Knowledge and experience using MailChimp and EveryAction
  • Knowledge and experience using CSS
  • Familiarity and interest in TA’s work and advocacy areas
