Mobilize the Immigrant Vote

Who We Are:

Mobilize the Immigrant Vote (MIV) builds multiracial, intergenerational alliances to amplify the voting power of low income immigrant and refugee New Americans and young people of color, so together we can improve living conditions and achieve systems change. We lift up the voice and influence of our communities through culture work; build the capacity of community-based partner organizations to educate and mobilize their constituents to vote; link these efforts with ongoing community organizing; develop models for collaboration; and deliver electoral and policy wins. MIV launched our work in 2004, launching the first ever multiethnic, immigrant-based coalition to build the electoral campaign capacity of community-based organizations in California: the MIV Alliance. In 2016, we partnered with Movement Strategy Center to co-lead YVote, a network of 16 community organizations working to transform young Californians of color into a powerful new voting bloc. Mobilize the Immigrant Vote is a nonpartisan charitable organization and is affiliated with the MIV Action Fund. We foster an excellent working environment that encourages teamwork and values high-quality work.
