Support the Advancement department’s direct marketing through implementation and support of operations and systems, including interaction with donors.

  • Provide new and existing staff with training on correct coding in use of database
  • Using detailed criteria, generate selections of donors for marketing communications
  • Proactively identify any operational gaps, issues and challenges and propose solutions
  • Build various types of import files – including promotion records, caging files, appended data, and upload them into the main donor database
  • Utilize SQL Report Builder to run ad hoc reports for Advancement coworkers
  • Manage ongoing data standardization projects including phone and birthday appends
  • Manage interface between main donor database and external applications, regarding EFT and credit card donation files from Engaging Networks
  • Manage interface between main donor database and external applications, regarding credit card donations and fulfillment files from telemarketing vendor
  • Manage interface between main donor database and external applications, regarding credit card donation files from Special Events data platforms
  • Set up codes within the database, including campaign types, campaigns, sources, fund codes, acknowledgments and acknowledgment plans.  Understand how they interrelate to maintain consistency and standardization
  • Coordinate registration process for special events and develop applied database for each of Mercy Home’s special events
  • Communicate via phone and email with donors and members of Mercy Home’s boards regarding their registration for special events
  • Troubleshoot Thank You letter program in Fusion Pro
  • Organize and execute group trainings on Advancement systems
  • Communicate at weekly staff meetings any changes to procedures involving the main donor database
  • Integrate new channel databases with the main Advancement database

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree.  Major, minor, or significant coursework in Data Management, Computer Science, STEM disciplines and/or demonstrable technical skills through recent employment history
  • 3-5 years’ data analytics experience, preferably with CRM data sources
  • 2-3 years’ experience with database management, data integrity, data validation and data cleansing
  • 1-2 years’ experience using SQL Report Builder / Microsoft Reporting Services
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ideal candidate has a working knowledge of the following: Crystal Reports, Business Objects, database programming and direct marketing techniques
  • Experience in development of work processes and documentation
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks, involving both systems and people
  • Ability to develop, write, and explain clear business rules for non-technical staff
  • Ability to manage, modify and select data accurately
  • Ability to meet deadlines consistently
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, adhere to PCI compliance in transferring sensitive data
  • The ability to become proficient in other software packages and programs as necessary
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Previous experience with event registration is a plus
  • Commitment to the mission, values, and goals of the Agency
