Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Services, the Manager of Communications will develop and drive the strategic communication plan and any associated marketing efforts, for external and internal audiences. You will build relationships with stakeholders, maximize our brand, and integrate the communications team’s expertise into departmental and organizational initiatives. We are looking for a smart, creative leader who understands how to create communications and marketing solutions to complex business problems, knows how to create high-performing teams, and is willing to get scrappy when needed.  If you want to make a difference in the lives of home care aides and the people who they support, we want to hear from you!

You Will:

  • Develop and implement targeted and integrated strategic communication plans
  • Create awareness campaigns, promotions, and outreach plans
  • Analyze and lead branding efforts of the organization working with your team to communicate and re-enforce branding guidelines
  • Lead all media and public relations efforts such as press releases and event promotion, including management of any agency or external partner relationships
  • Successfully manage creation, collection, analysis and application of marketing and communications data
  • Manage production of all communication vehicles including but not limited to Annual Report, magazine, E-communications, blog entries, press releases and event collateral
  • Deliver compelling business value messages
  • Work closely with leadership on targeting, placement and communications preparedness around key programs, activities, and events
  • Develop communication strategies that will broaden programmatic reach and deepen impact and spur action<
  • Create communication dashboard to measure and analyze impact of programs and strategies
  • Manage internal and external communications projects and programs; coordinates with internal and outside resources including public relations agencies, vendor and contractors as necessary
  • Work with your team to create various communications pieces including strategic communications plans, internal communications from leaders and departments, internal/external messaging, internal/external Q&A, press releases, byline articles, opinion editorials, letters to the editor and more
  • Build relationships with internal partners and stakeholders as well as external stakeholders including media, community leaders and partner organizations
  • Develop and manage effort to increase earned media
  • Seek new and innovative opportunities to elevate the company and bring fresh perspective to the department and role
  • Develop project specific and macro messaging, manage media assets
  • Project manage internal communications strategic plans and initiatives, from beginning to end
  • Create and maximize a digital strategy

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or relevant experience, Master’s Degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of successful experience in communications
  • 2-3 years working with Marketing concepts
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Proven project management skills
  • Demonstrated work on multi-faceted projects in a dynamic environment with high levels of ambiguity
  • Experience using content management systems
  • Ability to multitask and work successfully within nonprofit budget constraints
  • Familiarity with web page design and development
  • Technical acuity including experience developing and managing social media solutions
  • Impeccable organizational skills and ability to coordinate resources and staff
  • Ability to translate operational challenges into communications solutions
  • An Innovative thought process, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output
  • Self-motivation and an innovation mindset
  • 5 -+ years of experience in building, mentoring, and coaching a team of marketing and communications professionals
  • Deep interest in and respect for Home Care Aides, the work they do, and adult education
