6 steps for leveraging tech and human-centered design for responsive programming

Pathways to Education is a nonprofit with a mission of breaking the cycle of poverty through education. During the pandemic, the needs of their communities changed dramatically and the program delivery needed to evolve.

Through a partnership with Venture 2 Impact, the organizations adopted a human-centered approach for re-imagining the way insights from youth are consistently collected to reflect an intimate and deep understanding of their day-to-day experiences. Through online consultations, ethnographic interviews, concept shaping sessions, and design labs the organizations were able to find more engaging ways to get feedback from youth and develop an minimum viable product to consistently collect data.

Venture 2 Impact

As Venture 2 Impact’s Strategic Engagement Manager, Bryanna ensures all V2I stakeholders (non-profit partners, program participants, volunteers, corporate partners, and V2I staff) are supported in accomplishing their individual goals and our collective ones of advancing gender equity, economic opportunity, and well-being. Previously, Bryanna served as V2I’s Volunteer Engagement Manager and Project Coordinator. In these roles, she contributed to planning and leading in-person programs in Indonesia, India, Romania, and Rwanda to empower and equip individuals and communities from historically underserved and underrepresented populations and virtual projects for non-profit partner staff, young entrepreneurs in the Gambia, vulnerable children in Uganda, and more. Through these programs, Bryanna has helped skilled volunteers experience transformation and develop new skills; empowered young adults who grew up in Romanian orphanages and young single mothers in Rwanda; encouraged our non-profit partner staff and further equipped them to continue in their important work; and co-created tech solutions, training sessions, and curriculums with volunteers from Fortune500 companies. In both her professional and personal life, Bryanna uses the skills she demonstrated to receive her Certification in Volunteer Administration (CVA) to organize, implement, and evaluate in-person international, virtual, and community-based volunteer programs. Bryanna received her B.S. in Early Childhood Education and Child Studies from Vanderbilt University and enjoys using what she learned to build curriculums, provide training and development opportunities for V2I staff and volunteers, and meet each individual where they are at. Due to her experience and values, Bryanna excels at building community, connections, and culture and supporting others in achieving their goals.
