Nonprofit Tech Club DC (Washington, DC) is part of NTEN’s Nonprofit Tech Club program.
Have all the data you need, but know way to use it? Struggling to find compelling ways to tell your organization’s story for grants, donors, board members, and the public? Don’t get lost in the world of graphs and templates to showcase your nonprofit’s great work – learn about the tools and software available to you at little or no cost. This talk and demonstration with Jordan McCarthy will give an overview of what powerful graphics can do for your storytelling and demonstrate the use of Tableau Public and Power Bi – two platforms that can change the way you look and use your data.
Please join us for a FREE happy hour, presentation and discussion on Thursday, July 13th, led by Jordan McCarthy, Data Analyst and Storyteller at Tech Impact.
About the Presenter:
As a Data Analyst & Storyteller, Jordan help non-profits harness the power of data to tell important stories about their work to whoever needs to hear them. Jordan works with organizations of every shape and size – from 5-person grassroots advocacy organizations just beginning to think about how to manage and use data to 300+ person social services providers building real-time dashboards fed by cloud-based information management systems – to help them figure out what kinds of tools, analyses, and presentation styles will bring their data to life. Jordan has ten years of experience in systems and network administration, technical writing and education, and technology policy analysis. Jordan has volunteered in a number of schools and non-profit organizations to help advance digital literacy and inclusion, and continues to do so whenever time allows.
