Course: Volunteer Management

Are you ready to create a vibrant volunteer culture in your nonprofit? Discover how building a culture of volunteer engagement for your nonprofit increases organizational capacity. Explore practical frameworks of volunteering and discuss trends in online and in-person volunteering.

In this course, participants will discuss tips and strategies to effectively engage volunteers in multiple channels. Additionally, we’ll examine how nonprofits are currently leveraging volunteers to expand the nonprofit’s impact. You’ll leave with new perspectives on involving volunteers across the organization, from direct service to behind the scenes, in both short-term and long-term relationships.

A week-long course that takes place in our Online Training Center.

Participants complete pre-readings, answer knowledge check questions, attend an online training, and receive feedback directly from faculty on a homework assignment.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the why and how of a successful volunteer initiative, both in person as well as online.
  2. Define leading practices for building an effective volunteer system.
  3. Identify ways to integrate technology throughout the cycle of volunteer engagement.
