Streamlining Operations
NTEN courses run for one week and are offered twice a year.
Course Overview
Business Process Analysis
Break down work processes into steps that can be streamlined or automated.
Paperless Processing
Replacing paper processes with automated, online processes.
Collaborative Communication
Understanding how to use collaborative technology to improve staff coordination and knowledge management.
Description
Nonprofits understand the important strategic role technology plays in fundraising and programs. Partly because technology funding for mission-related activities is easier to secure, and revenue returns justify fundraising investments. In contrast, operations are commonly underfunded because nonprofits are often unfairly evaluated on how little they spend on the necessary expenses to maintain and grow the organization.
In this course, we’ll discuss:
- Technologies that support finance, HR, administration, and operations.
- How tech can be used to streamline work and automate redundant tasks.
- How you can work with staff, vendors, and other organizations to better advantage of existing tools.
While we’ll discuss technology, the class will be less about technology and more about the business processes and how technology can support them. Used wisely, technology can reduce data entry work, improve communications, and help administrative staff more effectively and efficiently support your organization’s work.
