Description

It’s essential to engage diverse communities and organizations as part of your digital inclusion program. You’ll need to reach out to people where people are, including offline and in person. Effective outreach will include strategies and activities designed to inform, engage, mobilize, and foster change.

In this course, you’ll learn about effective outreach for digital inclusion programs. This will include outreach to offline communities and ways to engage new learners. You’ll explore strategies you can use to drive digital equity in your community, and come up with an outreach plan you can take back to your organization.

Norma Fernandez is Chief Executive Officer at EveryoneOn. She is responsible for leading the strategic vision of the organization that focuses on creating social and economic inclusion and equity through diverse digital inclusion programs. Norma previously served as Chief Programs Officer and managed our nationwide initiative, ConnectHomeUSA, focused on bridging the digital divide in public housing communities and fostered partnerships with diverse private and public stakeholders to drive broadband adoption activities and deliver digital skills trainings. She attended UCLA where she earned a B.A. in Sociology and a M.A. in Urban Planning.

Live Event

This is a 90-minute live captioned online training with opportunities to interact with the presenter and your peers. And if you can't make the live session, you'll be able to access a captioned recording.

Homework

Faculty, themselves experts with a wealth of nonprofit experience, have created exercises that will reinforce what you've learned and give you actionable steps to improving your organization.
