Apparently, You SHOULD Hate Your Website

Submitted by Brett on Tue, 04/28/2009 - 7:53am

ForeSee Results released a report at the yesterday on "Trends in Constituent Satisfaction with Nonprofit Websites: Building Membership, Donations, and Loyalty through the Web Channel". If you haven’t been keeping track, that’s the third report released at the 2009 NTC -- with by far the longest title.

We’ve all secretly suspected that our websites have issues, and now there’s data to back us up. The report finds that “nonprofit websites score 73 on the study’s 100-point scale, below many other online industries, including Online Banking (83), E-Retail (74), E-Government (74) and Automotive Websites (78).” That’s right: we’re even behind government websites.

But we’re glass half full of beer folks here. The good news is that not only is there room for improvement, but improvement actually yields measurable benefits. Visitors who are highly satisfied with your website are more likely to donate, volunteer, and recommend your organization.

Nonprofit Social Network Survey Report

Submitted by Brett on Mon, 04/27/2009 - 7:17am

According to a survey conducted in March 2009 by NTEN, Common Knowledge, and ThePort, social networking has become an integral part of nonprofits’ online strategy. You may have already suspected that, but now you can get some hard numbers to justify that Facebook page you've been keeping so tidy and au currant. Then you can go all Matt Damon on your ED:

“You like apples? Of the 929 respondents to a survey, nearly three-quarters (74.2%) have a presence on Facebook, and 30.9% have one or more social networking communities on their own web site. How do you like them apples?”

But don’t take our word for it. Download the report and read it yourself. It’s free!

And if you're keeping track at home, that's two reports we've helped release during the NTC. Will there be another? Tune in tomorrow, same NTEN time, same NTEN channel.
