2011 Nonprofit DoGooder Video Contest is Back: Calling Your Best Nonprofit Videos

For the 5th year in a row, the annual DoGooder Nonprofit Video Contest, presented by YouTube and See3 Communications, is open for submission during the weeks leading up to the Nonprofit Technology Conference. If you're a nonprofit and you made a video in 2010, you should:

DoGooder Nonprofit VIdeo Winners Announced!

If you weren't with us at 10NTC, you didn't catch See3 CEO Michael Hoffman announcing the winners of the DoGooder Nonprofit Video Awards in front of a packed lunch crowd in Atlanta, Georgia.

The lunch was good, but the videos were fantastic -- and we wouldn't want anyone to miss out on those.

Get Your Vote On! 2010 DoGooder Video Awards Voting Now Open

We've been lucky enough to partner with See3 for the DoGooder Nonprofit Video Awards for several years now. In just that short time period, the use of video by nonprofits has exploded. 1. What's the most important trend in nonprofit technology for 2010?

The widespread adoption of social media is clearly the most important trend for nonprofit technology in 2010. While there are still complications about measuring ROI, and best practices are still being developed, we are seeing clear signals that web traffic is being driven from Twitter and Facebook, fundraising and advocacy outreach through social media is having impact, and a smart strategy of using YouTube contributes greatly to search engine optimization.

How To Video Videos

We had a 501 Tech Club meeting here in Portland this week, where we spent a lot of time talking about video. It seems some groups are really starting to get interested in all of the ways they can use video to tell their stories and inspire action. One performance group was interested in live-streaming their performances. Another wanted to get their event fundraising teams to take video of their experiences as they prepared for the big event.
