2008 NTC Video Contest
Voting Now Open in the
2nd Annual DoGooderTV Nonprofit Video Awards
Voting is now open in the 2nd Annual DoGooderTV Nonprofit Video Awards, co-sponsored by See3 Communications and NTEN. Individuals are invited to help pick the winner at www.dogooder.tv/nonprofitvideoawards.
According to Michael Hoffman, CEO of See3 Communications, "The response to this year's contest has been enthusiastic and we are seeing amazing growth each year in the contest and generally in the number of nonprofits using video. More nonprofits are using video online because they are seeing great returns on their investment."
More than 160 entries were received from over 100 nonprofit organizations. The criteria for the contest required that the video was created by or for a nonprofit organization and used in 2007. From the entries, 7 judges, including award-winning documentary film producer Danny Alpert and Jeff Pulver, founder of the Video on the Net conference, were able to narrow down to the 8 videos now shown on the site. Viewers are asked to vote in three categories - PSAs of less than one minute; short videos from 1 to 4 minutes; and long videos over 4 minutes. In addition, viewers will vote on one overall winner across all categories.
Voting is open until March 20, 2008 and on March 21, 2008 at the Nonprofit Technology Conference (NTC) the overall winner will be announced and awarded an all-expense paid trip to the 2009 NTC to be held in San Francisco.
