Affinity Group Meetings
One of the best parts of any conference is meeting people just like you. The folks who have been in your shoes can share your pain -- and some solutions!
We want to make it easy for you to find those people. Affinity Group Meetings will be organized throughout the NTC with the majority on the first day of the conference.
Would you like to host an Affinity Group at the NTC? Submit your topic idea here!
What is an Affinity Group?
By our definition, it's a group of people with a common interest or identity. An Affinity Group could be for nonprofit webmasters, people who work in hunger and homelessness, or people who are interested in blogging. NTEN hosts many Affinity Groups online and the in-person meetups are based on but not limited to our online Affinity Groups.
Who can organize an Affinity Group meeting?
Anyone can organize a meeting, and you don't have lead or participate in one of our online Affinity Groups, already. We do have a few caveats, however:
1. Affinity Group Meetings must be for non-commercial purposes
2. Priority will be given to existing online Affinity Groups
3. Affinity Group meeting space will be allocated at NTEN's discretion
How long is the submission period open until?
Submission will be open from November 1, 2009 until February 1, 2010.
When will a list of Affinity Groups at the 10NTC be available?
We'll have a complete list of Affinity Groups online by March 1.
