STARTING SALARY: 50,000-60,000
DUTIES: As part of the Instructional Technology team, the flash developer will work both independently and cooperatively with application programmers, systems analysts, instructional designers, content managers, and multimedia staff to develop training content.
From instructional designer supplied storyboards, the flash developer will design and develop rich interactive content including learning interactions, proficiency assessments, simulation scenarios, graphical arts, illustrations and animations. The developer will integrate audio and video assets to enhance the end-user experience where applicable.
Due to the evolving nature of the specifications and requirements of the Center’s projects, an emphasis is to be placed on the creation of reusable components, utilizing a modular development approach which allows for the integration of dynamic data where applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required. 2-4 years experience in designing and developing interactive flash applications.
• Proficiency in Flash, ActionScript 2.0, XML, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience with Object Oriented methodologies, FLEX and Actionscript 3.0 a plus.
• Experience with design tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Ability to apply creativity, artistry, and graphic design principles in the creation of graphical user interfaces, instructional graphics, and illustrations for online courseware.
• Proficient at Flash video delivery and integration of sound, motion graphics, animations and transition sequences.
• Ability to produce sophisticated flash animations from scratch that align well with the project needs and/or strategy.
Must possess a collaborative spirit and be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment. Must be flexible, self-directed, and enjoy problem solving. A portfolio is required for consideration.
