Web Projects Coordinator (Full-Time Position)

Are you well-versed in open-source web technology, and like working with people? Are you the kind of person who simply cannot rest until your project is completed well? Verve Internet Solutions has an opening for a Web Projects Coordinator – the special person who will coordinate web projects for our nonprofit clients. The Web Projects Coordinator manages the work of our in-house web development team to translate proposals into finished projects – on-time and on-budget.

Verve’s clients include higher education institutions, independent schools, human services agencies, environmental agencies, and other organizations located across the mid-Atlantic region.

Our Web Projects Coordinator will be focused on successful project completion, including:
• Translating the deliverables listed on contracts into specific work plans and timelines
• Coordinating the website development/technical team on project work, tracking billable hours, and reporting to management on progress
• Competently discussing specific technical details of open-source product implementation and customization (php, Ruby on Rails, Drupal, Ajax, etc.) with the development team and translating information into “non-techie lingo” for clients
• Meeting and communicating with clients to discuss project goals, milestones, prompt for web content, and other information needed to complete the project
• Assisting with developing information architecture for web projects
• Coordinating content delivery and organization for new websites
• Ensuring quality
• Making suggestions to the marketing/sales team about opportunities for additional projects
• Training clients on Verve products and solutions

Our new hire will show great patience with our clients, but will impatiently get their projects done on time!

Requires 4-year college degree, 2-3 years experience in project coordination, deep knowledge of web technologies, familiarity with open-source software/code (particularly php, Drupal, Ajax, and Ruby on Rails) and experience in client services is a plus. Verve’s offices are located at 161 Leverington Avenue, Chimney Hill, Suite 1001 (in Manayunk). The Web Projects Coordinator is required to work on-site 8:30 AM-5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.


Web Projects Coordinator Job Description:

Priorities:
• Ensuring all deliverables in project contracts are met on-time and on-budget
• Ensuring clients are kept informed throughout the project
• Coordinating the work of the in-house web development/technical teams on projects
• Relieving management from having to worry about project details
• Providing clients with any/all support needed to ensure their projects are completed smoothly
• Ensuring quality of projects before releasing final deliverables to clients

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinating all elements of project execution for website projects and online product implementation
• Coordinating the work of web development and technical team during projects.
• Developing solid working relationships with clients.
• Collaborating with stake holders and project team members to establish and document project scope, business requirements and user functionality.
• Working closely with technical team on assessing feasibility of ideas, brainstorming alternate approaches, scheduling projects, and ensuring that project specifications are in line with available technical solutions.
• Being able to competently discuss technical details of open-source product implementation and customization with in-house development team, and translate into “non-techie lingo” for clients
• Using PM tools to ensure projects are handled accurately, on-time, and on-budget.
• Creating and communicating realistic project schedules based on the input of team members.
• Ensuring that all team members are fully aware of their deliverables and due dates.
• Ensuring clear communication of project status to all key stakeholders.
• Working closely with quality assurance, overseeing testing and prioritizing bug fixes.
• Working closely with production team daily to ensure production is consistent and efficient.
• Identifying opportunities for new products and services in support of customers.
• Renewing and sustaining client contracts.

Required skills, experience, and education:
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of web development and online technologies, and experience in project coordination. Additionally, this position requires the ability to be confident, diplomatic, proactive, organized, detail-oriented, responsible, and exhibit excellent verbal and written skills. This position also requires:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working on tight deadlines in fast-paced environments.
• Understanding of web technologies, including HTML, website hosting, Web 2.0 tools, and content management systems.
• Passionate curiosity about our business and technology.
• BA/BS degree
• 2 – 3 years experience in project coordination
• Experience working with nonprofit clients a plus.

Salary: The salary range for this position is $45,000-$50,000, based upon experience.
