Position Summary
The Information Technology Coordinator works closely with the Director of Information Technology to perform a wide variety of maintenance, troubleshooting, and development tasks related to the operation of the organization's IT systems and online presence.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in maintaining and developing ColdFusion-based e-knowledge commerce portal which includes software testing and troubleshooting.
- Works with staff and vendor to verify correct operation of e-knowledge portal—including identifying problems, determining the causes of problems, and suggesting and/or implementing solutions—using ColdFusion, PHP, HTML, Javascript, and SQL coding, as appropriate.
- Assists in maintaining, developing, and configuring the local area network software and hardware.
- Assists in maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of Members Only, a customized third-party CRM application.
- Supports and instructs staff members in their use of the organization's information technologies, including Windows, MS Office software, library database, customer/subscriber database, etc.
- Assists in the development, coding and maintenance of web pages, server scripts, and databases for web and email communications, using PHP, PERL, ASP.
- Performs routine backups of systems and applies security patches to protect the network.
- Assists in developing and running queries from ERS databases.
- Keeps current on the developments in technology and how they can be applied to the work of the organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience:
At least two years of experience in developing data-based driven Web sites and administration of local area networks and information technology support and instruction is required. Experience in ColdFusion programming and coding HTML and scripting languages such as PHP, perl, Javascript, and Windows administration scripting, as well as some training experience, are preferred.
Education:
A bachelors degree or certification in IT or Computer Science is preferred, although experience will be considered in lieu of education. A certification of MSCE, MCSD, or MCP is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge: This position requires technical knowledge of hardware and software used by ERS, including Windows administration, Members Only, and Internet technologies.
Skills:Excellent coding skills are required. Excellent administrative skills in managing networks and supporting PCs are required. Good teaching/training, troubleshooting, analytical, documenting, organizing, prioritizing, interpersonal, and internal customer service skills are also required.
Abilities: The ability to acquire and apply new knowledge and concepts quickly is paramount. Also key are the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and the ability to recognize business needs and priorities and translate them into technical requirements. The ability to reverse-engineer is important.
