Leadership Changes at NTEN
We sent today a letter to our members announcing some changes here at NTEN.
After a very wonderful time at the helm, I have decided to step down as Executive Director, effective November 1, 2007. The board has appointed Holly Ross, NTEN's Program Director, to become the next ED. You probably know Holly well already. For many years, she has been the soul and spirit of NTEN. I am thrilled she has agreed to take NTEN to the next level; you are in great hands with her.
The NTEN Board has invited me to join in November as a Board Member. I am excited and grateful to continue to be part of the field and involved in NTEN's health and well-being in that capacity.
This last year has been incredibly exciting and busy as we have grown NTEN in reach and scope. I fondly remember seeing 1,200 of you at the NTEN Nonprofit Technology Conference in Washington DC this spring - a growth in attendance of 50% compared to the year before. Our membership has grown to over 2,000, and the online community is thriving, with thousands of active participants and tens of thousand of posts. We have a vibrant professional development program with weekly webinars and are publishing critical and groundbreaking industry research, such as our annual salary and investment survey.
In short, it is clear that NTEN is a strong membership organization, filling a critical niche in the nonprofit technology sector, and I am delighted to see Holly take the reins.
I am looking forward to working with Holly, the Board, and our great team over the next few months to make this a smooth transition. I will be taking a bit of time off to think about my next steps.
To our members: Thank you for your membership, for the great know-how and community spirit you bring, and for your continued support of NTEN and all of our work. As our tag line says: People who change the world need the tools to do it. It's truly been a pleasure.
