What Is Cloud Computing and Is It Right for my Nonprofit Organization?

You don't need to understand the technical details that make it work to benefit from cloud computing, but it helps to understand the basics before you decide if moving to the Cloud is right for your organization. In this session, we'll first define the various types of cloud computing and then discuss the various computing models to operate your nonprofit. We will explore the advantages and disadvantages of these computing models, including total cost of ownership and components to evaluate various models.

- To understand if cloud computing could benefit my nonprofit
- To know the various options of cloud computing available to my organization
About the Presenter
Patrick Callihan
Patrick Callihan is the executive director for NPower Pennsylvania. Headquartered in downtown Philadelphia, NPower is a nonprofit business that assists hundreds of local nonprofit companies with their technology needs, enabling them to better serve their missions through efficient and effective use of technology. Prior to joining NPower, Patrick held the position of marketing director at CAI, a privately held Information Technology firm located in Wilmington, Delaware. He has over 20 years of experience in the technology sector. Patrick has served in a number of local community service groups including Junior Achievement, United Way, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Patrick currently serves on the corporate board of directors at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware, where he leads their technology committee and chairs the Day for Kids, the largest fundraising event for the organization. He is also a member of the Professional Advisory Committee at the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
