The Social Website: Integrating Social Media into Website Design and Function
Event Details
Organizations are increasingly engaging supporters through social media across a variety of networks such as Twitter, Facebook, and Foursquare. However, there is also the exciting trend of organizations bringing the connections and conversations back to their web destinations to integrate their growing communities. This webinar will offer a combination of prepared case presentations, strategies for designing social media website integration, and an overview of some of the popular social media tools used within websites.
During the webinar, the presenters will discuss the six categories of integration: show, share, interact, co-create, authenticate, and open source with concrete examples of each. The webinar will also showcase a collection of examples where social media/network outreach activities are integrated into the core websites of the organization. Each example will be presented and discussed by the co-presenters to share their thoughts on visual, experiential, and strategic design decisions made as well as the technologies used to create them.
In this webinar, you'll gain:
- Collection of great examples of social media and network integration into core web destinations
- Brief exposure to APIs and widgets to help facilitate integration
- Key questions and ideas for assessing social media and community website integrations
