Groupon has changed the way the average consumer thinks about coupons. Now nonprofits are starting to wonder if Groupon can also help the average consumer change how they think about charity.

Join us for a conversation during our February Ask the Expert with Patty Huber, Groupon's nonprofit liaison and The Point's Groupon liaison who will share examples of how nonprofits have used Groupon to engage the public in their mission. We'll also introduce G-Team, an even broader platform for social change in the Groupon family.

Patty Huber leads social innovation at Groupon, an international daily deal website featuring the best stuff to do, eat, see and buy in more than 500 markets around the world. Harnessing the spirit of The Point, the collective action platform from which Groupon was born,Patty developed the G-Team initiative to turn deal seekers into do gooders by tapping into the collective power of the group to respond to local community need.

Groupon and The Point are Patty's first foray in online community organizing. Patty discovered her passion for community development and civic engagement through her experience developing service-learning and experiential education programs for high school and college students. She went on to produce corporate volunteer programs while pursing work in mental health and social service agencies. Patty approaches corporate citizenship and civic engagement from a social work perspective and seeks to create innovative ways to solve social problems through sustainable for-profit models.

This session is moderated by Sean Stannard-Stockton. Sean Stannard-Stockton is CEO of Tactical Philanthropy Advisors, a philanthropy advisory firm that serves individual and family philanthropists.
