Product Spotlight: GIS for Nonprofits!
Event Details
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) provide decision support to a vast global community which benefits from a geographic approach to visualizing and analyzing complex problems. That's the long way of saying: GIS is really cool -- and telling your organization's stories visually can help you meet your mission.
While professional grade GIS software has traditionally been out of reach for most nonprofits, this paradigm has shifted with a new Nonprofit Organization Program from Esri. Esri has led the GIS industry for the past 40 years with GIS mapping solutions like ArcView and ArcInfo.
Through the Nonprofit program, these technologies are made available to qualified nonprofits at extremely low cost.
Please join David Gadsden from Esri’s Nonprofit Organization Program for a 60-minute presentation on GIS solutions for nonprofit organizations followed by a 30 minute Q&A. The session will include:
- A high-level introduction to GIS concepts and fundamentals
- An overview of the Esri ArcGIS 10 platform
- Real-life examples covering:
- GPS-enabled field data collection
- ArcGIS Desktop mapping and analysis
- ArcGIS Server Web mapping and dashboards
- GIS in the cloud with ArcGIS online
- Demographic analysis and mapping with Community Analyst
- How to get started with Esri GIS through the Nonprofit Organization Program
