Good Maintenance: Upgrading your Drupal Site Upgrading Drupal is essential to maintaining a healthy, smoothly running website. With the release of Drupal 7 right around the corner, a lot of Drupal 5 sites are at risk of no longer being able to have security patches from Drupal. This webinar will cover all the steps you need to take when upgrading a Drupal site for either minor or major releases. We'll discuss the steps for upgrading from Drupal 5 to 6 as an example. In addition, we'll talk about how to know when you need an update, and tests you can run once the upgrade is complete.

Presented by: Jeannette Modic, Carolyn Kaminski, and Margaux O'Malley, Grand Junction Design. Grand Junction Design is a small woman-owned web development studio that specializes in building Drupal websites for nonprofits.
Jeannette Modic, Drupal Specialist, earned her BA in Computer Science from Goucher College in 2005. While attending Goucher she learned the importance of being a global citizen and has always wanted to work with non-profit organizations. She specializes in using the Drupal content management system to create easy-to-use, effective web sites for our clients. She is also our CiviCRM guru, and often works with clients on using this tool to improve their constituent relationship management and communications.
Carolyn Kaminski, User Experience Designer
, earned her BA in History at Northeastern University. Through working in both sales and marketing and on website re-design in the for-profit world, Carolyn gained an understanding of the client's perspective on working with design and technology companies. She is now applying these lessons with GJD's clients in the non-profit sector. Carolyn joined the GJD team in 2008, and was excited to work in a green office that is genuine in its environmental goals. Carolyn specializes in Interaction Design, Usability and Information Architecture. Carolyn works on the design, organization, theming, and site building of Drupal sites, always keeping web standards and best practices in mind.
Margaux O'Malley is one of the co-founders of Grand Junction Design, a woman-owned web development shop working exclusively with progressive nonprofits. Her goal, and that of Grand Junction Design, is to create positive social change by empowering the nonprofits with whom she works. To this end, she has guided many organizations as they improve their effectiveness online, including The Hunger Project, Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees, OneWorld U.S., Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation, and The Barker Foundation. Margaux graduated from Carleton College in 1997 with a BA in Latin American Studies and Spanish. Her personal focus is on environmental sustainability. She enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors. In her family and in GJD, she makes every effort to consider the environmental impact of each action and decision, and to teach her children to do the same.
