Sherry Budziak has extensive experience in providing Web-based technology solutions for organizations. Serving in key leadership roles for associations, she has particular expertise in association management, Web site strategy and administration, technology planning, project management, marketing and strategic planning.
As Associate Executive Director of a major medical association and Chief Operating Officer of an Internet company from 1996-2005, she understands the unique requirements of associations while having a strong background and relationships with the association vendor community. While serving as COO for NetOn-Line Services, she worked with more than 150 organizations to help them define and implement their Web site strategies. Sherry oversaw all business development, production, project management, and new product development activities.
During the same time, Sherry also served the parent organization as Associate Executive Director of Information Technology and Web Services, where she oversaw its Association Management System implementation, Web site redesign activities, eLearning programs, and participated in the strategic planning process for the organization.
Sherry holds two Bachelors of Arts degrees in Communications/Public Relations and Political Science from Valparaiso University. She is an active participant in the non-profit sector.
She is an active participant in the association community as a
knowledge expert and frequent writer and speaker for the Association
Forum, the American Society of Association Executives and Digital Now.
She also serves on the Association Forum's editorial workgroup and
writes a regular column for the Association Forum's CEOnly e-newsletter.
Suzanne Carawan has over 15 years of experience working with
non-profits from both a vendor, volunteer, and member perspective.
While her career has been spent in for-profit software and consulting
companies, Suzanne has always served the non-profit market through
working for companies that either served the non-profit market
directly, or through working on pro bono projects. Her lifelong pursuit
is to find ways to use technology to improve the welfare of populations
in developing countries.
Prior to ThePort Network, Suzanne held a variety of product and channel
marketing roles and volunteer leader roles in various organizations.
She currently serves on ASAE & the Center's Industry Partner
Alliance Committee and heads up the Social Responsibility taskforce.
She is also a member of the CMO Summit, Women in Technology, the
American Marketing Association, ASAE, the National Association of
Professional Women, and several alumni organizations. She is a student
of Tae Kwon Do under the renowned Grand Master Eung Gil Choi at USTMA.
Suzanne holds an MBA in marketing from American University's Kogod
School of Business, an MPH in Social Marketing from Tulane University
and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Maryland,
College Park.
