Join us for this 3-part series to engage and learn new ways to think about your online communications strategy.  Big Duck, a leading communications firm that works exclusively with nonprofits, will share its expertise, giving you the opportunity to learn:

  • New ways of thinking about how your website, social media and other online communications can welcome visitors and reflect your organization’s positioning and personality.
  • How to identify and think about your audience when creating your website, writing content, raising money online, and implementing outreach campaigns.

Sarah Durham founded Big Duck in 1994 with the belief that nonprofits would benefit from the for-profit sector’s best branding and marketing strategies. Today, Big Duck is the leading communications firm in New York that works exclusively with nonprofits to help them raise money and awareness. Sarah works with nonprofits of all sizes and missions, including AmeriCares, Hale House, Robin Hood Foundation, and the Partnership for a Drug-Free America. She was featured as a ‘Top Fundraiser Under 40’ in the February 2006 issue of Fundraising Success Magazine, and is an adjunct faculty member at NYU. Additionally, Sarah is a dynamic speaker who trains nonprofit professionals on topics such as relationship cultivation and stewardship, producing cost-effective print and web materials, branding, and the boards’ role in communications.

Farra Trompeter is Vice President of Client Relationships and Strategy at Big Duck. Big Duck combines expert strategy with award-winning creative to help nonprofit organizations transform they way they communicate. Farra helps nonprofits use the Internet (email, websites, social media, etc.) to increase an organization's visibility and connect with donors, program participants, and activists. Before Big Duck, Farra honed her skills at Donordigital and Douglas Gould & Co., developing direct response fundraising, advocacy and marketing strategies and producing user-driven websites. She has worked closely with American Lung Association, US Fund for UNICEF, Women’s Sports Foundation, Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, United Way of New York City, and other nonprofits. Farra holds an M.S. degree in nonprofit management from The New School and currently serves on the board of the New York City Anti-Violence Project.
