Many social and economic behaviors shape donor preferences, including charitable giving, taxation, neighborhood effects, and globalization. Research has found these behaviors to hold true across individuals and even across societies.

This has led social scientists to analyze the role of personal and social attributes in determining the preferences that govern these behaviors, important for both economic theory and practice – and for determining how best to reach your donors and supporters.

A study of Yale Law students found that "...powerful ideas may [shape] how we see the world, even late in life." These are important ideas for nonprofits to explore as they look to shape their message and brand.

This session will explore some of the “basic” research of give2gether's co-founders on donor preferences.
