100% online - Financial Management for Nonprofit Organizations introduces the fundamentals of financial management for nonprofit organizations. The course examines the use of financial statements as a management tool, the elements of an accounting system and how they are used in a nonprofit organization, the basic methods of internal controls and preparation for an external audit, the budget cycle and filing tax statements.

This five-week course includes the following modules:

Nonprofit financial statements and analysis
Accounting system overview
Internal controls and the external audit
Budgeting and taxes
Special features of this course include: links to useful Web sites on nonprofit financial management and small group projects with nonprofit practitioners throughout the U.S. and other countries.

Class size is limited to 25 participants.
