No Strings Attached: How Municipal Wireless Will Change the Way you Create Social Change

Municipal wireless is coming to San Francisco. Soon your organization, your clients, and your stakeholders will have access to free and low cost wireless Internet access. In this event we discussed what this means for nonprofits that work in the city.

Imagine if:

- Low income residents could file legal and tax documents from Internet kiosks, or their Internet-enabled laptops from their own neighborhoods and homes
- You could collect survey data on a handheld computer in the field and transmit that information back to the office in real time
- Community members could report health and safety issues in neighborhood parks as soon as they are encountered

This all-day event identified real programs and projects nonprofits can implement to best utilize municipal wireless and provided resources and training needed to make that happen.
