I'm so excited to officially welcome Julia Smith as NTEN's new Community Development Manager! Julia began working with NTEN on the Communities of Impact (CoI) project earlier this year, and now we're thrilled to have her on the NTEN staff! Julia will continue to work with the CoI project and NTEN's communities of practice and will also be supporting the 501 Tech Clubs, managing our social media channels, and helping to make the NTEN's community programs even better.
Julia is no stranger to the nonprofit technology community. She came to NTEN after launching a Chicago-based consulting practice for nonprofits and artists. Prior to that she spent years in New York and Washington, DC, where managed communications at Idealist.org; co-founded 826DC; organized with political campaigns and social justice collectives; and got entirely too familiar with the bus and train routes up and down the East Coast. She loves facilitating unconferences and retreats, volunteering at Chicago farmers markets, and indulging both a longtime penchant for film photography and a newfound one for Instagram.
Join me in welcoming Julia or send her a welcome!
