Change is at the heart of what we do at NTEN. We’re trying to create more social change every day, and we’re pushing you to do the same work with us. It’s with twinges of sadness and excitement that I share with you a personal change: that I will be leaving NTEN after 4 and half years.
As we know all too well, change is never easy but necessary for new growth. I have been deeply honored to work with each and every person in the NTEN community, whether directly or indirectly through the programs we deliver. Thank you for bringing your everything to this work. You have challenged me through your persistence and passion to make our programs better and stronger. Your silliness has made me laugh and your geekiness has taught me so much more than I ever thought I would know about Star Wars. For that, I can’t thank you enough.
My gratitude for the NTEN staff is so great, I don’t have the words to tell Amanda, Amy, Annaliese, Brendan, Brett, Holly, John, Karl, Mimi, and Sarah how much they have meant to me as colleagues and friends. Okay, if I keep going there will be even more truth to the #annacries.
News like this usually elicits two questions: What are you going to do next? And who is going to replace you?
To answer the former, I plan to take some time off, enjoy the Oregon summer, and contemplate the next phase of my life. I know that whatever that next step is, it will still be in the social good world – and I plan to stay connected to NTEN. (I’ve already discussed my lifetime membership with Amy. She’s offered me a pretty good deal.) I hope that I will stay connected with many of you (of course, you can find me here & here).
While I might be little and therefore my shoes aren’t literally very big, NTEN will be looking for a wonderful, intelligent person to fill them. Might you be interested in working with an awesome team to help more nonprofits learn and change the world through a greater understanding of technology?

My last day at NTEN will be May 18. You'll be able to reach me at anna@nten.org until then to ensure continuity on any projects or requests.
