There was a nice nonprofit representation at this year's SXSW conference in Austin, and the first few items here are from NTEN members sharing their take-aways from that event:
Allyson Kapin, over on Care2's Frogloop blog, rounded up some of the nptechies at SXSW to hear their surprises and biggest lessons learned. (Lots of folks contributed their take-aways, including: Michaela Hackner, Michael Cervino, Clint O'Brien, and Geoff Livingston). See what they had to say here.
Matt Koltermann shares his top 10 take-aways for nonprofits from his experience at SXSW too, focusing on harnessing technology for nonprofit missions.
And Amy Sample Ward spoke on a panel at the SXSW conference (along with some other NTEN superstars, including Beth Kanter, David Neff, and our own Holly Ross), and generously shares her session slides and discussion points about why including Crowdsourcing in your mix of online community building is important.
Norman Reiss writes up a summary of the March NYC 501 Tech Club event on mobile campaigns for nonprofits.
Nancy Schwartz points out two tools you can use (online) to make your (off-line) events that much more effective for your cause. Thanks for the tips, Nancy!
And a little birdie (Deborah Elizabeth Finn) gave us the happy news: NTENers Marc Baizman and Rachel Murray tied the knot! Congrats! Met at the NTC?! We're just saying, you might want to take another look at the social events....
