Flickr Photo: Vermin IncSacrilege right? This is the sort of thing I'm not supposed to say. We are, after all, the Nonprofit TECHNOLOGY Network. And yet, I'm reminded almost every day that technology isn't always the answer.

Yes, technology can help us gain great efficiencies and deliver our programs and services in new and more effective ways. But sometimes, it's best to sit a little behind the curve.

Today that reminder came from my VOIP phone provider. We got an email explaining that we would receive a free trial of their new voice-to-text service, which will provide text transcripts of all our voicemails.

I get a lot of voicemail, so I was super excited about saving a little time. Here's the first one:

Oh hello this is [NAME REDACTED] work trying to conference in with you with Sarah, take a better hang up. Information into dance teachers pictures online bill payment.

I guess I'll stick with voicemail.
