(Note: This is a weekly round-up of NTEN members doing and sharing their nptech awesome. Members are in bold. Tag your news with "nten member" or "nptech" to help us find your awesome, or contact Annaliese with your updates.)

Ok, so there's nothing really that spooky about this week's round-up.  Except for the spooky picture.  But's it's Halloween tomorrow, and I just like the word "spooky." Let's get on with the member round-up!

Let's start where we left off last week:  Amy Sample Ward was giving away a copy of her book, and this week she announced the winner of Social by Social -- the winner, Kim, was chosen at random from blog post comments offering their favorite organizational examples of using social technology. Kim gave the example of NTEN member organization World Pulse Media, so congrats all around!

Steve Heye gets gig as late night TV pitchman -- I mean, talks about IT Alignment and his chapter in the book Managing Technology to Meet Your Mission (Edited by NTEN, published by Jossey-Bass/Wiley) with an intimate gathering of Community Media Workshop attendees. Watch the video. It's worth it.

Allyson Kapin writes up some tips and best practices for nonprofit organizations approaching the RFP (request for proposals) process on the Care2 blog. Today, Michelle Murrain and Robert Weiner, via the Progressive Exchange email list, hosted by M+R, cautioned against investing too much time and energy into the RFP itself -- more valuable information will come from user stories and conversations with the vendor.

Michelle Murrain writes up her take-aways from the Open Mobile Camp 09, held at UNICEF in NY, and put together by Mobile Active and Open Mobile Consortium. Michelle goes into some detail about how she'd like to see CiviCRM close some gaps to make collecting and integrating data better, and Katrin Verclas and Donald Lobo keep the discussion going.

If you're in Central Texas, then you should check out the NP Bar Camp there next month, spearheaded by David NeffHolly Ross will deliver the keynote!
