NTEN, Zombies, and Renewing Your Membership: What Do These Have to Do With Each Other?

The cool crispness in the air (or rain drops, or snow flakes, depending on where you are) means we're heading to the close of this year. That means it's time to get ready to renew your NTEN membership for 2010. Renew this month and get a FREE Webinar on us!

Flickr: juushikaFlickr: juushikaAs I looked around for a halloween-themed picture to post here about renewing your NTEN membership this month, it occurred to me that if you've been around NTEN for any amount of time, chances are you've heard us talk about zombies or robots, or even zombie robots. It seems we here at NTEN both fear and are fascinated by zombies and robots, and use them as metaphors pretty much whenever we talk about scary things or events we don't want to happen.

Well, we think you being without your NTEN membership could be pretty scary:

  • Picture yourself with no access to our Ask-the-Expert sessions. Who wouldn't want to get the skinny from Beth Kanter and Allison Fine on what it means to be "The Social Organization"? Or, how about discussing innovation, change, and online media tools with Seth Godin?
  • Where else can you get a steady diet of online seminars from experts in the field, covering topics from virtualization, to optimizing your Google Grant account, to running email campaigns, to setting up an open source website -- all with you and your nonprofit in mind?
  • Or say your board tells you you have to be on Facebook, and Twitter, and that they expect you to instantly raise $100k from them. (If Obama did it, so can you, right?) Where will you go to get the data and case studies to show them what kinds of strategies and goals are realistic? And we're not just talking about empty numbers here, we're talking about access to the people who can give you sound advice and real stories: that's the NTEN community.
  • And, of course, the conference. Do we even need to mention the NTC? The sessions, the people, the ice cream carts during breaks . . .

Ok, I'll stop there. I think you get my point. Basically, being without NTEN membership would be scary enough, so please enjoy the refreshing picture of candy corn instead of scary zombies.

But if scary zombies and robots is your thing, check this out.

> Renew before November 1st and you (and everyone associated with your membership) will get a free webinar coupon!
