NTEN members generally rock, but every week we try to give props where props are due.  This week in NTEN member news:

In case you missed it, See3 staff have been guest-blogging on Care2's Frogloop NTENny Beth Kanter captures online crowdsourcing, of a kind (Flickr: Cambodia4Kidsorg)NTENny Beth Kanter captures online crowdsourcing, of a kind (Flickr: Cambodia4Kidsorg)this week. GlobalGiving recently ran a contest to encourage nonprofits to use social media tools to engage and raise donations for their causes. They provided social media tools to the vying nonprofits and provided $9000 in prizes to the organization that raised the most money. The winner, Critical Exposure, learned a lot about engaging people via social media tools, so it might be worth it to check out their story. Thanks to GlobalGiving for giving nonprofits the tools and an extra push to use them for their causes!

ONE/Northwest got some props on an email list I'm on for this resource on optimizing your on-line sign-up forms. Check out the presentation slide-deck referenced in the post for detailed information about considerations and steps for making it easier to get your supporters to sign up and take action!

Is there something in the nptech water? You probably already know that NTEN is working on a site-redesign (because we're crowdsourcing the project), but did you know that NTEN member and nptech rockstar org TechSoup is also undergoing a site redesign? Marnie Webb reveals their project overview on her blog.

NTEN rockstar (and official NTENny) Amy Sample Ward has a guest post about 5 steps to social media strategy success for nonprofits.

Great post by NTENny and NTEN Board Member Michelle Murrain about an issue that should matter quite a bit to the NTEN community: the vendor-client contract. She emphasizes the importance of using "stories" to define the functionality and results the client (nonprofit) wants. Fellow NTEN member Ryan Heneise gives his "here, here!" to the post. Do y'all agree? Have your own stories?
