If you're registered for the 2009 Nonprofit Technology Conference, congratulations on being one of over 1000 amazing people coming together for 3 days of awesomeness, April 26-28. (If not, don't feel bad, you can still register before the regular registration on March 13.)One of the big perks to being registered is the exclusive conference social network, NTConnect brought to you by the fine folks at Acteva. At this point you should have received your login to NTConnect. (If for some reason, like your spam folder, you haven't gotten it, please send a friendly note to support@ntconnect.org and they'll be happy to get your login info to you).
A few NTConnect highlights:
- Connect: Meet other NTC attendees before the show! Go to the tab 'People' and find folks that share your interests and friend them. Don't forget to tag yourself with your location and the session tags for your interests to make yourself easier to find!
- Meetups: Join and create groups under the 'Groups' tab. Within the groups, you can create meetups to make the most of your networking time in San Francisco! You can already find Groups such as San Francisco Meetups, a DC-based group, Nonprofit CEOs, CiviCRM Users Group and many more!
- Virtual Science Fair: Visit and learn more about all the exhibitors pre-conference! The exhibitors have virtual booths and are doing special highlights and giveaways in NTConnect!
- NTC Sessions: You can create your own personal NTC Agenda! Go to 'NTC 2009 Sessions' in the upper right and scan the sessions, and don't forget to RSVP by clicking on the button in the session description. This will help us pick the right rooms for popular sessions!
- How do I edit my profile? Once you are logged in, click on 'your name' in the upper left corner. Then, go to 'Edit My Profile' in the middle right of your screeen. Now you can add your photo and all the juicy info that you would like to share with the rest of attendees.
- I'm getting a lot of email. How do I update my email preferences? If you were one of the first folks in the system, you may be receiving more messaged than you prefer (now updated to default to daily digest). While you are in 'Edit My Profile', choose the tab 'Notifications'. Here you can select/unselect so that you receive the messages you care about. You can also select the daily digest option.
- How do I...? Many of the places you want to go are linked to from the handy 'Shortcuts' menu in the upper right. Here you can create a blog post, check your messages, and create an event!
