A couple of weeks ago, See3 put out a great set of videos on how to create and use videos in your work. If you're looking to dive in a little deeper, YouTube has a new set of tip sheets you can peruse.
You'll find great ideas on how to turn your video into a full-fledged campaign and shoot and edit on a shoestring, along with more tips for customizing your YouTube Channel.
If you need a little inspiration, check out this video from NTEN member Tim Fullerton of OxFam:

I have heard that including video on you web site increases your ranking. Is this true?
If so, what programs can you recommend to do this?
Great post. The biggest thing I would like to communicate here is that the less glitz, the better. What a great change! I think that videos are more compelling to your users if they are REAL. Just start rolling and start talking. Once you get comfortable, it will become a great source of communications between you and your members or prospective members. I would be happy to help anyone wanting to get started with video. It is cheap to get in with the software and equipment...no reason not to do it!
