Flickr Photo: Caro WallisFlickr Photo: Caro WallisI've come across a lot of things this week from and about you rocking NTEN members. The thing is, it's not just a lot of activity -- especially for AUGUST -- it's the kinds of things you guys are doing and saying that's so impressive.

Here we go:

Peter Deitz's Social Actions launched a DonorsChoose.org plug-in for WordPress, which is very cool. I heard about it because Amy Sample Ward not only blogged it, but uses it, as well.

The Humane Society's Carie Lewis is profiled on the NetSquared blog. She's leading successful fundraising and advocacy campaigns with social media tools.

Speaking of successful campaigns, Oxfam America was profiled for theirĀ  offline-to-online marketing campaigns.

Sage Software is joining forces with TechSoup to donate software to the nonprofit technology community.

The NonProfit Times released its 2008 Power and Influence Top 50 list, which happens to include Gavin Clabaugh, Wayne Pacelle of the Humane Society, Vince Stehle of the Surdna Foundation, Marnie Webb of CompuMentor, and Brian Gallagher of the United Way of America. Congratulations!

You all are also sharing food for thought and tips and how-tos for the community:

Amy Sample Ward contributes to the Stanford Social Innovation Review with a helpful discussion on working collaboratively with wikis.

Convio's Connection Cafe serves up some great tips on crafting email subject lines and how to develop an effective social bookmarking profile.

Michelle Murrain asks how people keep up with the new tools and trends in this industry, and how important it is to your mission.

Elliot Harmon gives an honest reaction to SocialVibe, a service that generates donations through online advertisements, over on the TechSoup blog.

Allan Rosenblatt contributed an article on the Huffington Post about Big Oil. Go read it, then buzz it.

I loved this post by Beth Kanter about acknowledging -- and sometimes taking -- the Newbie Perspective.

And in other news:

Salesforce.com/Foundation helped the Tides Center build custom management tools.

Superstar NTEN member Norman Reiss was named JibberJobber's Personal Branding Winner of July. Congratulations! Read the post for examples of how to communicate your professional identity through blogging.

The Bayer Center is gaining unexpected traffic for their nonprofit technology survey. If you work in the southwestern Pennsylvania region, drop by and let them know about your nonprofit technology adoption. (You can tell them I sent you ;).

MPower rolls out user-developed innovations to their open source CRM. Nice work, open source community.

Last but not least, you can join Deborah Elizabeth Finn next Tuesday to learn about making the transition from nonprofit employee to consultant
