Things We Like (October 2013)

A monthly roundup of our favorite nonprofit tech resources and other goodies.

  1. When everyone’s favorite spam twitter account revealed itself to be an art project, there was a little but of uproar.
  2. Which brings up an interesting question: Can spam be art?
  3. Have you ever been stuck in traffic and really wished you hadn’t skipped lunch? Well, now there’s an app for that, or, maybe just cell phones in general.
  4. When something goes wrong with our electronics, we call tech support, right? What would tech support look like for other things that stopped working? Like the government?
  5. Just because we’re adults doesn’t mean we can’t have fun on Halloween. Trick or treating as an adult is still an option.
  6. And if you go trick or treating, candy corn is sure to be part of your haul.
  7. Don’t forget to check out your neighbor’s jack-o-lanterns, too, especially if they’re this awesome.
  8. We’re not the only ones who are looking forward to Halloween. Check out these animals with their jack-o-lanterns and dressed up for Halloween.
  9. But autumn isn’t all about pumpkins (although they’re awesome) and Halloween. It’s harvest time in the Northern Hemisphere and the Boston Globe has some great images of this year’s harvest.
  10. Autumn is also time to start thinking about year-end giving, and how your organization can freshen up their end of year appeals.
